Deep in the jungles of Ubud lays a perfect holiday oasis right next to the river beside an old sacred temple. Villa Cella Bella became an Instagram sensation just a month after I had booked my vacation through Airbnb. As I was posting videos on my Instagram Stories, I drowned in messages from my followers asking if this was ‘the villa where they shot the flower pool video’. And yes, that’s the one. A Mexican Instagrammer @rigm with his girlfriend stayed in the villa around Valentine’s day and shot a video of the two falling into a pool filled with beautifully set flowers. The video went so viral on Instagram that the villa is booked for months and months in advance – so in case you dream of staying here after reading this post, you better act fast. I mean, talk about the power of social media.

Villa Cella Bella is one of the dreamiest villas in Ubud, the kind most travellers dream about with its infinity pools and sky hammocks over the green jungle. I spent hours on end choosing through the many villas Ubud has to offer but eventually chose Villa Cella Bella based on my friends recommendations and the never-ending five star reviews the place has received on Airbnb, calling it a place more beautiful than heaven. A once in a lifetime experience one shouldn’t miss. So yeah, okay, convinced.

The villa is still pretty new and offers 5 different rooms, 4 in the main building and one further away. The owners of the villa haven’t worked in hospitality for that long but are passionate about this place beyond words. They have also hired a group of the kindest locals to take care of customer service, cooking and maintenance of the place. And I mean, each guest gets their own butler who is on call via Whatsapp throughout the stay. The pool and sky hammocks are shared among the 4 rooms in the main area.

The stay includes a delicious breakfast, which you may enjoy by the pool, in the pool, in your room or terrace or in the common areas. The floating breakfast in the pool has a small extra charge. Other meals are not included, but I can highly recommend enjoying at least some of the meals inside the villa as the food is delici0us – the menu has a bit too many American options to me, but also some delicious local specialities.

I stayed in the Crystal Suite, which I guess is the most simple of the available rooms. The room itself is not that special, but the bathroom is out of this world, though while I was staying there it wasn’t exactly finished yet. But Imagine a glass floor with fish swimming underneath your feet AND add a glass bath tub where the fish can admire your bare bum while you enjoy a bubble bath. Yes, that’s what all your Bali holidays should be made of. Mind you, the bathroom is partly outside but offers full privacy for bouncing around naked.

The Crystal suite with 3 other rooms are located in the main part of the villa. There are two rooms with terraces towards the jungle. River Dome is a special room further down the path by the river where the guests can enjoy privacy like nowhere else – a popular choice among the honeymooners. I mean, you can literally Whatsapp your butler when you run out of mango juice and pancakes and stay in your private pool with your loved one all stay long.

The location of Villa Cella Bella is more than ideal. It is far enough to be surrounded by nothing but the purest nature and an old sacred temple down the river, but still only a 5-10 minute scooter ride to the heart of Ubud.

So in case you are looking for that dreamy villa for your stay in Ubud, I can say with confidence that there is no need to look further.
